Wishes for 2013

So I found this little gem of a picture over at the Shapeshifter Seductions facebook page...couldn't you just scoop that little one up and give kisses galore?  Yep, I would so not make a good K9 cop.  I can just hear the Captain now...

"What the bleep did you do to your bleeping partner?  You don't kissy bleeping smoochy on a police dog.  You praise him for ripping the bleeping bleep out of the bad guys...hey, does your dog have a paunch?  Mother bleeping, bleep...get a new job!"

And so kiddies, that is why Serena Shay is a writer...NOT a K9 cop.  :D

My muse, of course, had other ideas about what to do with cutie patooty German Shepard's...

Nick looked out over the bullpen, wondering which one of his employees would make a good TP Lupa.  Would the timid little mouse in the corner take time out from chewing her hair to give good advice?  Could he trust the ass-kissing pooch smiling and waving from the copy machine or the Bullwinkle directly in front of him watching, lordy, moose hunting videos on Taltube?  Shouldn’t that be considered a snuff film and how the hell had it gotten on the town’s video site anyway?

“Scat,” He mumbled, frustrated with the whole damn group of so called reporters.  He wanted his love to take over the advice column since she was so damn smart and empathic.  Ziva, of course, had a different idea for her “career” as she put it and if the twinge on his ass was anything to go by…she meant business.  Double rulers and a stern lecture on why it was in his best interest that she be satisfied with her career made for Nick’s Happy New Year!

“Woof…ohmygawd, ohmygawd.”

Nick smiled as he walked away from his office.  Ah good, Ziva was here and apparently had found her gift.  He may not be able to get her to take on another job at work, but he was able to ferret out her secret wish.  He’d have never guessed she wanted her very own puppy…especially one typically used in K9 units.  “He likes you,” he said, watching her rolling around her office floor with the wiggly little beast.

“Nicky…how did you…”

“Know?  I wasn’t that far gone when you whispered your secret wish in my ear on New Year’s.”

“Why now?”

Nick looked from Ziva to the pup and smiled.  “I was thinking maybe we could, you know, practice.”

“Practice?”  The gleam in her eyes spoke volumes.  “Practice is good.  I think I’ll name him Nick Jr.”

“Ziva.” Nick warned, while crouching down to scratch the little wiggler behind the ears.

“No?  Well then, maybe we could come up with something together…”

“That sounds like a plan.”

May all of your New Year's wishes come true!
