Man Candy Day! (NWS)

So, I sent the draft of "Fat Aussie Bastard" to a proof reader/editor, so I don't want to post a peice of it. (Yes, that's what I'm really calling it. =D ) I have a pretty good flash started that continues the sheep epic but I'm not happy with it yet. And it's the end of the day on Wednesday, so I don't have time to keep tweaking it. Y'all're getting man candy instead. Enjoy!

Just so you know, yes, I did change the pictures. I found a rather terrifying blog about what happened to one blogger who used random man candy pix she found on the inter-webs. What you have here are four of my own custom man candies. One is a PG-17 version of Dante from this year's calendar, one is an experiment with nude art lighting, one is a character from my Wild Lords books, and the other is an idea I've been experimenting with for next year's Talbot's Peak calendar, where I work the ladies into the man candy shots.

Six X-rated Sentences from Chapter Fifty-Nine

Zance after a snowball fight, and a shift to his wolf form.

Tuesday howls and yowls, shapeshifter lovers.

Wow, it's August already. It's been a strange, disruptive, and extremely busy year. And, it ain't over, is it?

Anyway, I just hit the wall on the flash scene I was writing for today. I had too many unexpected interruptions, and my eyes are drifting shut right now. So, I decided to go with six 'unedited' sentences from my latest WIP, which I hope to finish and do a final edit on soon.

Her Midnight Stardust Cowboys

Six X-rated Sentences from Chapter Forty-Nine

With lust firing his blood like fine whiskey, Zance licked and savored his mate's pussy. The female taste of her made him buckin' wild, and his wolf howled to mate.

Zance took his time lapping each texture and shape of her sweet sex, while he listened to Sherilyn's rapturous moans. Even with wantin' to ride her, he couldn't get enough of tonguing her silky, plump pussy bits.

Sherilyn strained, wanting to thrust herself closer to both him and Dontoya. "Oh, gawd, cowboys...I'm already out of my mind with pleasure."

Fly Like An Eagle

Twin golden eagles circled overhead. Jeanine watched them for a moment, envious of their easy grace. Then she continued her arduous trek up the mountain.

There was a story in Talbot’s Peak. A big one. She just knew it. The coyote with the video camera had just been the tip of the iceberg. In the week she’d been poking around the town’s borders, she’d seen things that couldn’t possibly exist and heard about dozens of others. Bengal tigers, and one huge white Siberian, in a Montana forest. Squirrels with handguns. UFO sightings. A biker with a bighorn sheep riding bitch on his Harley. The two grown men in mountain goat costumes she’d actually seen for herself. The one had turned out to be a hunter studying the herd’s movements. The other she wasn’t so sure about.

Whatever was going on here—mutations, loose circus animals, secret government installations conducting clandestine experiments, alien metamorphs—Jeanine was determined to get to the bottom of it, and get the proof on video. If she had to do it on her own, so be it. Her wuss of a cameraman, Tom, had bailed on her in the wake of the coyote incident. Well, screw him. She threw herself into her climb with renewed vigor.

One of the eagles shrilled. Jeanine looked up. The pair’s shadows swept over her before both huge, majestic birds arrowed out of sight behind an outcropping. Maybe they had a nest up there. She’d just have to try to avoid it. The top of this mountain would afford her the best overall view of the town, along with those fortress-like mansions situated on the other peaks. The Wayne ranch she already knew about. She gritted her teeth when her aching feet sent up a twinge in memory. There was supposed to be a bar out in the woods that was rumored to be a hotbed of all sorts of secret, and sexual, activity, but nobody would tell her where it was. Maybe she could spot it from up here.

Her tired feet slipped on a steeply-angled rock. She clawed at the ground for purchase and crouched there, huffing for breath. No wonder only mountain goats and eagles lived up here. They must have lungs like whales and feet with Velcro on them. Jeanine was used to sitting in a tent while Nature’s dramas played out in front of her on camera. This real-life adventure was getting a bit realer than she was accustomed to dealing with. And majorly lacking in oxygen.

Ah, but the rewards, when she won them, would be spectacular. She patted the camera clipped to her belt. Reassured, she resumed her climb.

The thread of a trail she’d been following petered out a quarter-mile later. Jeanine pressed on, with frequent stops to gulp air. It was just a stupid mountain. Naturalists climbed higher hills than these all the time, and had the footage to prove it. Though if she had to do this again, she’d get herself a riding mule first.

She rounded a curve and found herself stymied by a sheer wall of rock even the most sure-footed mountain goat wouldn’t be able to scale. “Poop,” Jeanine announced and turned to retrace her steps. The gravelly ground gave way. Jeanine pitched forward, with nothing between her and a painful tumble down a steep rocky slope.

Except for two sets of hands that caught her by the arms and shoulders and eased her back to uprightness. Startled and afraid, because she’d heard no one approaching, Jeanine faced her rescuers.

Whoa. Her brain must really be starved for oxygen, because nobody like them could exist in real life, not even in her wildest fantasies: twins, identical in every way, from their shiny, brown-blond hair with the eagle feathers in it, down their naked torsos, past the deerskin breechcloths down their long, sturdy legs. Okay, both could do with a pedicure. She didn’t need to look at their feet, not with those lovely faces and those fierce amber eyes smiling down at her.

Jeanine caught what little breath she could get. I hit my head on a rock. That has to be it.

“Are you all right?” the beautiful, near-naked hallucination on her left asked.

“You almost took a nasty tumble,” the other chimed in.

“I’m fine.” Jeanine made no attempt to shake off their twin grips. If this was a dream, she wanted it to last. “I didn’t know anyone else was up here. Are you … ” She eyed their scraps of deerskin dubiously. “Game wardens?”

The left twin laughed. “Not exactly. We’re part of the Talbot’s Peak air force. I’m Rufus. He’s Rafe.”

“Oh. You’re pilots, then?”

The pair exchanged a bright-eyed look. “Something like that,” Rafe said.

Rufus peered down the mountainside. “You walked all the way up here?” He switched his peer to her worn boots. “In those?”

“I heard the view is incredible up here.” Her happy stare hopped from one to the other. Ain’t that the God-blessed truth. “I had to see for myself.”

“The best view in the county is at our place,” Rafe said. “You can see for miles up there.”

“And we have oxygen tanks,” Rufus added. “You’re not the first pretty lady who’s tried to climb up to our nest.”

Jeanine swallowed. This sounded like the start of one of those books her sister liked to read. Or one of Jeanine’s favorite sex dreams. She looked from one perfect, yellow-eyed face to the other again. She’d just spent a whole day struggling up a mountainside in worn-out boots on aching feet. Besides, at the moment a full lung-full of air sounded better than a slug of whiskey. Dream now, wake up later.

“Is it far to your place?” she asked.

The twins lifted her easily and carried her between them in a chair of their interlaced arm. Jeanine moaned with relief and laid her head against Rufus’s—or maybe it was Rafe’s—sturdy shoulder. This was the best damn hallucination she’d had in a good long while. Here’s to oxygen deprivation, she thought as she dozed off.

The two whistled while they carried her. Had Jeanine been even moderately aware, she might have wondered where they found the breath. Even at complete awareness she would not have understood eagle-speak.

One of us needs to fly to the club. Dante should be told.

You go, then. I’ll keep an eye on her.

Oh, no. You’ll try to do more than that. I know that look in your eye.

Did you see the look in hers? I’ll bet there’s enough here for both of us.

Rufus chuckled. Definitely. That’s what I love about naturalists. They’re so fond of wildlife. All right, you give her oxygen while I go to Dante’s. She should be recovered by the time I get back. Try not to start without me.

Rafe leered over Jeanine’s head at his twin. That’ll be up to her.

In short order they reached a snug little cabin built into the side of the mountain. Rufus eased Jeanine into Rafe’s arms and spread his own wide. In a blur of feathers the great golden eagle lifted into the air. In an eyeblink he shot out of sight.

Rafe paused at the doorway just long enough to unhook Jeanine’s camera from her belt. “Won’t be needing this,” he murmured. He tossed it into the bushes and carried her inside.

Magic and Love's Ornery Kick

Abebi sighed as she looked out the door.  Jackson was nowhere to be seen.  Where had he gone?  She protectively cupped her stomach.  Was her aloofness too much?  Was he having second thoughts?  Fear mixed with bits of remorse bubbled in the acidic caldron of her belly.  Wiping a lone tear off her check, Abebi reentered her shop.  There would be time to hunt Jackson down after she closed up.  The twenty miles of Remoor Beaches housed too many pack members for Jackson’s whereabouts to remain unknown for long.

Abebi slammed the cash register drawer closed as she finished counting the last of the day’s receipts.  Another thirty minutes had passed and no one of the pack reported seeing a tall out of place cowboy wandering the town.  Wolf Scat!  The man couldn’t be hiding right under noses.   Or could he?  One call usually took care of notifying the pack watch command.  Had some link been missed?

Jackson sat on the bench closest to the street he came down until he found the beach.  He pulled his boots back on wishing he didn’t have too.  He noted the sandals most everyone wore.  He’d seen the shoe store up the street next to the department store with the window displaying the flowered shorts.  Shorts were bad enough.  Flowers too?  Oh hell no!  Sweat rolled down his back and wet another portion of his jeans waistband. Jackson fanned himself with his hat.

Back in Talbot’s Peak a man needed his hat when he rode the range.  Here there was no range.  Only miles of sand and water.  Ocean he heard two of the kids digging in the sand call that over-sized pond.  Okay, he knew the difference between an ocean and pond.  Problem was he couldn’t see the other side of this one like he could back home.  Except home didn’t feel right anymore.  Something called him here.  Said follow her.  So he’d wished and asked magickal help.

Boy magick had a kick worse than an ornery mule!  By some intercession he laid here in a place called Remoor Beaches.  Jackson dropped his hat on his head and shoved off the bench.  A beer and a burger called to him.  He recalled a bar two block up offering said lunch for a few bucks.  He’d worry about a place to stay later.  The help wanted sign he’d seen wasn’t encouraging.  Waiting tables and signing didn’t mix for him.  He howled better than he sang.  Crooning took talent he sorely lacked.

Half way up the street, he saw her.  Her determined stride caught his attention first.  The way her breasts swayed with each step almost mesmerized him.  Christ he had it bad.  He practically missed the woman jogging by him.  Her generous cleavage moved in rhythm to her pace.  A cough interrupted his sightseeing.

“You must be new in town.”  A medium built male waved at him near the entrance to the bar.  “Come on in out of the heat.  I’ll buy you a cold beer.”  The male turned and held open the door.  Cool air filtered out and over Jackson’s face.

Jackson hesitated.  Why would a stranger be offering to buy him a beer?  “Why?” Jackson startled as the man motioned him closer.  “I’m the welcoming committee for Remoor’s Sea wolf Pack.  Name’s Remo and alpha’s my game.  Along with bar entrepreneur.”

Happy Weekend Gang!

Looks like Abebi is determined to find Jackson.  Jackson is  unsure what to think.  We may have a pair of unsure lovers on our hands.  I don't know what my muse has in store for them next.

Keep cool!  The spice homestead is settling down post morph into the quintet.  Maybe someday it'll all make sense until then, taking each day as it comes feels pretty good.  August is upon us.  Heat continues to slam most of the country.  Remember to hydrate and share a few good books with your spice and loves.  I am!

Script Writing?

I have to say, I adore my muse...but sometimes she confuses me.  Take today for instance.  She insisted that we start this flash as a script.  Wha-ah?  I'm not a screen writer so what the heck?  Anyway, she wouldn't let up and wouldn't agree to anything else...so, here's stab one (dialogue) at script writing.  I wonder if there will be a step two?  LOL

Ziva:  “Go,go,go…”

Penelope:  “Come on, water boy, save some for the end…Mistress Penny has a lot riding on this race.”

Ziva:  “Mistress Penny is it?”

Penelope:  “No, Z, you may not call me that…unless you let me take you over my knee.”

Ziva:  “Ha, Nick’s not quite there yet, Penelope, check back later.”

Penelope:  “Mistress…come on you overgrown guppy, sprint to the finish!  Mama needs a new whip.”

Ziva:  “You know he has to throw some of the races.  Can you imagine all those medals as only gold?  There would be questions.”

Penelope:  “I know…I know, but damn what’s the point of being a shifter in the Olympics if you can’t use the goods?  Especially when I have money riding on them.”

Ziva:  “I’m surprised any of the town’s athletes ever gain permission to participate and now with that weightlifting mule attempting to shift mid-lift…he’s lucky the humans assumed it was a dislocation.”

Penelope:  “That donkey’s gonna have some words with Dash, that’s for sure.”

Ziva:  “He’s gonna be eating hoof…”

Penelope:  “Fucking right he will!  I should lay down some green on that fight now.”

Ziva:  “Who’s your bookie, Pen?”

Penelope:  “Just no on the Pen business and I book with the same person I get the Cuban’s and 30 year old scotch from…Louie.”

Ziva:  “That rat has his nose in everything…”

Penelope:  “Yep…  So, Z, I heard you were one hell of a runner in high school…why don’t you partake of the Olympic Games?”

Ziva:  “I hate to lose.  What about you, Penelope?  What’s your claim to Olympic fame?”

Penelope:  “Ha, my skill cannot be set on the world wide stage…yet!”

May all your dreams be Olympic in size!

Ratigan's Stock Order

"Hey Louie, what's with this line on the stock order?" Gil asked as he walked back to his boss's office.

"Which line?" Louie grunted, managing to evoke every nuance of his New Jersey heritage with just those two words.

"The one that says 'grenades for goats.' Why would goats need grenades?"

"The guy who phoned in the order said they had a couple yahoos gallivant’n around the herd naked, wearing nothin' but goat skins. One of 'em was a monkey with a rifle and the other was a wolf."

Giil looked at his boss sceptically. He didn't doubt that Louie was repeating exactly what the customer had said--Louie never bothered with lies. Shifters could smell them on you and Louie's rat nose was better than most. No, it was the idea that the local goats' reaction to hunters would be 'get some grenades.' Rational people just don't think like that. Of course, rational people don't run around naked in a goat skin during hunting season, either, so maybe the herd had a point. That a wolf might do something odd like that was a given. There was no telling what a carnie might do, in Gil’s opinion.

"Was that your question?" Louie grunted, pulling Gil out of his reflection.

"Ah, no," Gil said as he inspected notes he’d made on the stock order form. "Our supplier said he could only get four HE grenades for the money the herd's willing to put up, not the dozen they asked for. They can get a dozen training grenades with a pack of replacement charges, or two flash-bangs and a half dozen trainers, or they can settle for the four real grenades for that price."

“Really, three hundred bucks for training grenades with spare charges? Put us down for three dozen and ask about how much for about a hundred charges,” Louie said. “I’ll call the goats and ask how they want their money to be spent, but that’s too good of a deal to pass up!”

Gil made the note on his paperwork and backed out of the cramp room Louie called an office, shaking his head. This was his black market stock order, of course. He had a normal order he placed weekly for Ratigan’s Pub, too, but Louie often wanted food supplies not on the USDA’s list of items approved for human consumption. Louie never asked for thing like live money brains or any of the other truly sick stuff humans like to eat. But he did ask for the ingredients for haggis and sheep intestines were not something he could run down to the grocer’s supply and pick up. How Louie got started into supplying arms and illegal alcohol, Gil didn’t know and didn’t want to know. He had a few black marked skeletons in his own closet so couldn’t point any high-moraled fingers at anyone else.

“Gil, the want the flash bang deal,” louie called.

“Got it!” Gil called back and added that to his list, too, then started chuckling. If the ATF ever got ahold of this stock order list, they’d have a cow. Grenades, sheep guts, and 150 proof blood whiskey. Maybe he’d add some Cuban cigars to the list just to round it all out.
