Now on Sale

Horsepower is now available from Evernight Publishing and at the ebook vendor of your choice. I won't swear to it, but the scene on the cover, which appears in the story, maybe have been subconsciously inspired by this scene from Ghost Rider. Now you don't have to watch Nic Cage overact. Watch Ant-Man instead. That movie's a hoot.

Starting the New Year Right

J. J. Collins has a new MM story, PRICELESS, coming out on January 12 from Evernight Publishing. No shifters, just hot-and-horny aliens. Excerpts coming soon!

12/2/15

We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas ...

And a happy New Year

Happy Holidays, everybody!

Coming Soon!

Next week, in fact. A short story by M/M writer J. J. Collins, and published by Evernight. Here's the cover:

I can post this here because it involves shapeshifters. Other books by this author will be more contemporary and contain fewer, for lack of a better word, supernatural elements. Although the leads are likely to look very familiar:

What can I say? I'm obsessed. The new season starts October 7. Maybe we (and Dean and Cas) will finally get lucky this year.

I'M PUBLISHED!

Self-published, that is. My first Talbot's Peak novel, The Mountain Lion King, is now available on Smashwords, and should be visible on Amazon before the week is out. It's about a man and a woman finding love while battling a psycho tiger. You won't find that at Harlequin.

Check out that cover! Our very own Serena Shay made that. I showed it to an acquaintance, and the first thing she noticed and commented on was the guy. That's what I call a successful romance novel cover.

Now I can start saving up for my Christmas present:

Happy reading, everybody!

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN

...for the annual Supernatural Christmas photo. Here's this year's.

And here's your present:
Happy Holidays, everybody!

COVER TIME!

This just in: my cover for Jessalina's Pets! Here y'go --

The rest of the book is scheduled for release at the end of August. I'll keep you posted.

Oh wait, I need to wrap with a Supernatural pic. How'd you like to be his pet? Yeah, that's what I thought.

5/12/14
USE THE FORCE, CAS!

I know he's carrying a flashlight, but doesn't it look like a lightsaber? Maybe a Star Wars/Supernatural crossover is in the offing. Don't worry, that's not Darth Vader; that heavy breathing is me.

Also, here's the infamous "picture of naked Misha on a horse" photo:

'TIS THE SEASON

Why is it I never find stuff like this under my tree? Happy Holidays!

7/25/13
HEAR HEAR!

I'm in total agreement with this. Maybe in Season 9.

4/24/13
NERD PORN

I was lurking on threads in a writers' forum and somebody mentioned nerd porn. Which makes me happy I found this picture:

I also understand you can buy lightsaber vibrators on the Internet. Maybe that explains Darth Vader's heavy breathing ...

SNEAK PREVIEW

Here's the tentative cover art for my upcoming YA, Slayer for Hire. I don't have a publication date because I haven't even gotten the edits yet. I'm still waiting to hear back from Harper Voyager, too. Tom Petty was right; the waiting is the hardest part.

12/17/12
Wishing you the best for the holiday season

Good News!
Evernight Teen has accepted my YA book, Slayer for Hire! It's tentatively scheduled for February 2013 release, provided I can learn how to do an electronic signature for the contract. It has a boy, a girl, vampires, and no sex. More info (and excerpts) to come.

Meanwhile, here's two guys who aren't in the book:

Why I Like Writing
I just finished typing up the second draft of a YA book. Here's what I've had in my head for the past two months:

Now that that's done, I'm going to let it ripen and go back to shapeshifters for awhile. For the next month or two, I get to keep this in my head:

By God, I love writing.

New Cover Time!

Check it out, it's here already! The cover for my next release, Temptation and Tights, a tale of superheroes (and one supervillain) in love. The artist captured Owen's (the blond guy) personality in one well-chosen head shot. That dinosaur in the background? That's the other guy. Did I mention the superhero/supervillain aspect?

Release date is tentatively scheduled for mid-August. I'll post more when I know more.

And now, a question I must remember to ask the celebrity panelists next time I go to a SF convention ...

5/26/12
Super!

Sold another one! Temptation and Tights, the story of a supervillain and a superhero in love, should be out from Siren in August. It's another M/M, and it's a lot shorter than that last monster I wrote. I'd had the idea for a while, but nothing really came together until I tried to force myself to work on a different story and my rebellious brain threw this one at me as a distraction. If it does okay in sales, I won't complain.

No, Wolverine's not in it. I just needed a pic of a well-known super, and I think Hugh Jackman's cute. Even with the claws.

In protest of PayPal's recent crackdown on "smutty books," here's some Wincest for your enjoyment. It's fiction, it's free, and PayPal can't stop it. If the thought of two blood-related fictional characters loving each other upsets you, just pretend they're Wallace and Jeremy. Those two aren't related. The one guy's just undead. Maybe that'll be the Phillistines' next target.

Cover Time!

Check it out! Here's my cover for LEGACY, due out from Siren Publishing on February 16. How you liking that TWILIGHT vibe? I wish the guys could have looked more like Jared and Jensen, but their likenesses are probably copyrighted and owned by the CW Network. I should be happy with what I've got. I'm flirting close enough to plagerism as it is.

For the record, and as an extra thrill, here's how I pictured my heroes:

No, Misha's not the girl. C'mon.

12/8/11
Season's Greetings!

Jared might not want to bend over much farther ... that deer's getting awfully close ...

This Just In

I learned yesterday that Legacy, my sequel to Belonging and first-ever M/M/F menage, has been accepted by Siren Publishing with a target release date of February 2012. That's a little over two months to edit an 86K+ book. Why do I do this? Gahhh!

There's a sequel in the works to this one as well. I hope it will be shorter and doesn't take me another year. More info will be posted here and over on Title Magic in the coming weeks.

And now, something we've long known to be true:

10/27/11
Happy Halloween!

In honor of the season, I bring you the scariest things I've ever seen -- actual WalMart customers! Oh, the horror ...

When plumbers go shopping ...

Love those little schoolgirl outfits ...

Santa gets edgy

Color coordinating

Werehawk?

Since I like to end with a Supernatural pic, here, through the magic of Photoshop, is "Batman"

Yes, we fangirls are a kinky bunch. Enjoy your Halloween!

Pic Spam
Due to technical difficulties, I couldn't post a picture with my blog on Monday. Now I've got the laptop back and I'm ready to rock! So here's what you missed out on:

Now I feel the need to overcompensate. Let's see what else I've got in my files ...

Sounds like Dante's got some competition. Meanwhile, I understand Jesus is always popular:

And so is ...

How about this one? Jabba lives!

Gahh! I need to cleanse my brain now.

Ahhh ... much better.
I need another. Don't Winchesters make pretty cowboys?

And we'll wrap with a personal favorite:

I love modern technology. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Coming Attractions
It’s done! This weekend I wrapped up my first draft of LEGACY, my unexpected sequel to BELONGING. Wallace and Jeremy are back, and now they’ve got a girlfriend. Hey, I’ve only been working on it since roughly last October. I hit a few snags along the way, which is why it took so long. The good news is, when I found myself stuck I started work on REDEMPTION, the unexpected sequel to LEGACY. Assuming the first sequel sells, the second should follow in pretty short order.

I hesitate to call it a trilogy, since it isn’t all one plot. There are ties between the books, but they’re separate stories. The lead in the third had an eyeblink cameo in the first; he ends up with a minor character from the second. The leads in the first and second barely appear in the third. The dominos started falling when a line or idea got me to thinking, and thinking tends to blend into plotting. At some point I’ll blog about How to Grow a Series.

Once I’ve got the vampires out of my system I’ll be going back to M/F shapeshifter stories. I have a couple plots in the works. Unless I go back to the M/M/M science fiction story I started. Or unless I decide to explore my new series. A throwaway line in the third book up there inspired an idea about a close-knit family of slayer cowboys from Texas. Screw it, I’m going to go play computer games.

And now, the reason the Winchester boys always seem to have money:

4/17/11 - figured out how to add a photo. Enjoy.
