Home Again

Spirit Bear knew the time had come. Time to face whatever evil the world sought to dish up. His magic would keep them safe. His child, their children, would live to see a world without terror and fear if he had his way.

Alas the world did not always listen. Octavia was right. Prayer and fasting would serve to connect them to their spiritual paths. The rest was up to them. Too many visions of home and the need to feel his place of power around him had haunted Tongson for days. Watching Octavia morph and fly freely over the mountain peaks one last time had told him what his heart and soul knew. Home was where she was. No matter their differences or even Tomas and his blasted hair, Octavia balanced his world. Tomas's live for now and tomorrow when it gets here had angered Tongson at first. In the moments of quiet meditation he seen sides of Tomas that weren't observable unless you watched with close intent.

Listening to his low volume purrs as Octavia and he made love was a welcomed noise as Tongson walked past their bedroom door. He knew both were content and happy to be together. Tomas had egged Tongson on at first about his humming, but damn when you're lonely what did they expect. To find them in bed awaiting him the following night almost angered him. That was until Tomas said he needed Tongson's snores to get to sleep. Too much quiet bothered this city cat. Octavia refused to sleep with either of them alone any more.

So now the lights of the city twinkled below them as the moon rose. Tomas padded on all fours up next to him. His yellowed tiger tabby stripes stood out against the growing shadows. Octavia's hoots sounded from a nearby roof top. A tall dark brown grizzly walking on two legs through the center of town would attract too much attention and draw unneeded publicity.
Morphing back into human seemed so different after weeks and months free to take form and shape as any of them pleased. Still even their human friends deserved the opportunity to celebrate their children's future with them.

All had the right to be safe. Safe and without fear. . .at least not face fear every moment of every day. Human or shifter needed to feel the sun upon their face and breath freely celebrating life, not hiding and afraid.

Happy Weekend everyone! Our troop is back. I suspect Tomas and Tongson along with some reinforcemetns are going to be planning a surprise for Sherre Khan. And not one he's gonna like. Kazim and Stanlisus are preparing their first report for Tomas and clan. I hear it's a whopper. Stay tuned!

Read a few books, keep cool, and remember to hug your loved ones. Tell them you love them. Life is precious and worth living.
