Intermission Gal Style

Octavia smiled as she sat upon the bed next to Mickey.
"I've known Tongson for some time. Let's say longer than many folks would believe."

Mickey nodded. "Night Hawk said an old friend was visiting. He refused to share more." Her hand gripped the spread and bunched it twice before letting the chenille clump go.

Octavia patted her hand and leaned closer. "I see you haven't learned the age old adage about men."

Mickey looked up. Her face must have one hell of a puzzled expression. Tavia, as she insisted on being called, smirked and tried to suppress what Mickey suspected was laughter.

"Don't worry dear," Tavia began. "Most men don't realize how readable they are. Tongson hides it better than most. They want to be in charge when they feel it benefits them. Other times they are wondering what the frack to do next."

Mickey shook her head. "I don't get it."

Tavia laughed and motioned her closer. "Remember when your mother or aunt said ask questions until you understood or needed no more explanation?"

Mickey sighed, shaking her head no. "My mother died birthing me. And Aunts or female relatives took that as a bad omen."

Tavia slipped her arm around Mickey's waist hugging her close. "I'm sorry to hear that Mickey. I'm here and you can count on me."

Mickey smiled and turned. "Is this something that I should already know?"

Tavia sighed and leaned back on her hands. "Some things women innately understand. We're nurturers. Men like to think they do it better and know more. Sometimes they comprehend details faster. Tongson's memory is chocked full of spells and information that is centuries old."

"Spirit Bear is centuries old?" Mickey gasped, quickly covering her mouth.

Tavia grinned and winked. "No, he's a bit younger than that. He memorizes things at a speed few understand or have the ability to access. I've seen what he can do. Our mental link is one of the strongest in the tribe. You and Night Hawk are potentials."

"Potentials?" Mickey watched as Tavia glanced around the room.

Tavia pointed to two contrasting colors in the floral mix of sheets. "See how these compliment each other while still standing out on their own?"

"Yes."

"Each can stand alone or mix with the others adding and enhancing. Alone the color's magic and pull are strong. Mixed with the others and you miss the subtlness of its lure and call. That is where potentials come in. Together we are stronger. Alone we are still strong but only as far as our powers and abilities allow us." Tavia paused waiting for signs Mickey followed her train of thought.

"So Spirit Bear and you are potentials who enhance each other and add to what each of you is alone. Night Hawk and I have the possibility of achieving this. Yes?"

"Right. Remember men do and ask for directions afterward. We as women must nurture and direct them down the path of seeking and doing as they learn. " Tavia rose and moved toward the bedroom door. "Allow Night Hawk to think he leads, but keep your own eyes and senses focused as you may see or feel something he tunes out."

"Thank you Tavia." Mickey reached the door and paused by Tavia. "I like having another woman to share talk with."

Tavia winked and whispered, "Gossiping is fun if you know what to not repeat and what to pass along."

I just knew there had to be a strong, wise woman behind the all-mighty Spirit Bear! Great flash, Solara!

Yep, great flash! No man stands alone, even if he thinks he does.

Course, I missed out on that age old wisdom that Tavia knows.

Now I know why I like Tongson so much. He's smart enough to have someone like Tavia in his life. Wonderful flash!

Thank you Rebecca, Savanna, and Pat. Remember Tongson and Tavia are exs. So while they remain linked, they are not together in the strictest sense. Who knows what more will unfold as they head North To Escape Detection?

Who knows? Even if they weren't exs... now, why did they leave each other? I must have missed that part.

Mmm...so Tongson is a younger man and a potential to Tavia. Nice! I can't wait to see all the ways they can enhance each other. ~wink~

Great Flash!
