“Hunted?” “Mounted??” “Eaten…what the hell is wrong with
this town!”
Bobbi Sue read the ad in the pet store’s window while she
danced around the feet of several confused and concerned tourists. Sure the words sounded harsh, but living in a town full of shifters with an array of different appetites, one couldn't be to careful.
“Disgusting, I tell you.
Just disgusting. Someone should
tell the Mayor.”
“Yeah!”
Good luck there lady.
Bobbi Sue yelped when the behemoth tattle-taler stepped on her paw. There was no safe place amid humans for toy
yorkies, but she’d needed to see what Glenn had been working on all
morning. She knew whatever it was would
affect her directly, yet her short stature kept her from peeking over his
shoulder.
“Oh my, sweet boodilly-boo.
I didn’t mean to step on your widdy biddy footsie.”
Oh crap! With no time
to run, she found herself in the arms of a baby-talking stranger who held her too
tight and wore far too much perfume. It
would be sheer luck if she didn’t lose her puppy chow all over this woman.
“I should just take you home with me itty bitty one.”
The hell. Bobbi Sue
barked, short, panicked noises searching for help she was terrified she wouldn’t
find. No way would she go home with this
stranger.
“Ooh, oh…stop, please.
No need to get sassy, puppy-wuppy, mommy Mimi will take good care of her
intzy-wi…”
Her legs moved in frantic fleeing motions, but this woman
had a vice grip around her neck. If only
she’d stayed, cowering in the soft nest of pillows Glenn had laid out for
her. Glenn…
“Excuse me, Mimi did you say? I believe you have my pet.”
“What? No, this is a
stray I just found. She’ll be coming
home with me, Sir.”
"Actually, this is Bobbi Sue and she lives here in this shop…” Glenn lifted her from the Mimi monsters arms
and cuddled her to his chest, warm and secure; his hand stroked her head even
as he continued to speak. “…Where she is
safe and she is loved.”
Have a warm and secure weekend of your very own!

Oh wow, do we all need a rescue like that! from the Mimi's of this world!
Fun flash, Serena.
And, yeah, in Talbot's Peak you can't be too careful.
I agree, Savanna! Plump pillows and gorgeous Glenn's for one and all. hehe
Whoa, that was a close one! Lucky for Bobbi Sue Glenn was nearby.
Life as a Yorkie in a world full of wolves ... that gal better learn kung fu or something.
Any of those cockers named Joe?
I confess to speaking baby talk to my own dog. When she'd get tired of it, she'd just bite me.
Joe Cocker... teehee...
Oh mine, did get some cooing cuddly talk, and they liked being treated like that for a bit... but not on the level of Mimi... lol...
LOL...maybe one of the families that adopts a purple cocker will name it Joe! :)
Hehe...I, too, indulge in the baby talk with my furry babes. I forced myself not to do it with Darling Diva so I needed an outlet elsewhere. Now they just put up with me and give me that whatever lady face. ;)
the 'whatever lady' face... ~smiles~
