What's in a Name?

Ralph walked back to his cabin still pondering the board back at the gazette.  The baby name pool still had not been finalized.  Were Nick and Ziva ever going to name their spawn?  And now there was another board he’d had to wager on for Mayor Gil’s new fleet.  He had high hopes that between all the multiple births here lately one of them would choose his pick—Dwayne, such a fine name.

“Ugh,” he grumbled.  It was 2015 and things still weren’t going his way.  The movie selection was meh, the town was all happy-happy, Joy-joy, lately; the most exciting thing to happen was the awesome mammoth battle of a few months back.  At least it gave him fuel for his op-ed column.  His most recent submission made him chuckle…What’s in a Name?

Since both Nick and Ziva were off on baby leave, they’d left Mistress P in charge of getting the gazette out so he stood a good chance of this article making it into the mix.  Hopefully, it would help the alpha’s finally settle on one of the names he’d picked.  He’d included names not just for their two, but also for the mayor’s lot.  Now he’d go home and submit the poem he’d penned to the online gazette; anonymously, of course.  Then he was due a few winks.

Dwayne, is the name
So sturdy and strong
It will bring with it fame
So you can never go wrong.

Another is Rock,
Or Rocki for a girl
Now don’t you bock
Don’t you remember the squirrel?

I also like Jon or John,
Nice and short, not too long
For a girl go with Joni
That’s a short “O” not a longy!

Dwayne, a fine name, sturdy and strong ... as a Rock, perhaps?

And don't forget, the biggest-grossing action heroes of the '80s and '90s were named Sylvester, Arnold, and Bruce.

Ralph just needs to hang on until summer, when all the action movies come out. Star Wars and Avengers this year! I'm not sure how Ralph feels about Howard the Duck.

Oh, he can submit that unanimously all he wants; everyone's going to know who wrote it. I kind of like Rockie for one of Gil's midgets, though.

So like Ralph, upping his chances for the betting pool, and getting the little wolfies named action-movie appropriately.

Sure, you'd never know anonymous was Ralph... hehe...

I kinda like Rockie for one of Gil's babes too.

Rockie, eh? So that'll be the flying squirrel?

With a boyfriend named Moose in his/her future, no doubt.

Ooh, more good action names, Pat...I wonder how he'd feel about Willis for the first name? Maybe not.

Oh mercy, tell me they're not redoing Howard the Duck! I say that one way back in the way back when I was a kid. The best part were the Skittles, even though I had to share them with my brother! LOL

Hehe, yeah Rebecca, everyone is sure to know it's from Ralph, but he never lets that stop him. :)

Rockie is an excellent name for one of Gil's tribe, definitely for a girl.

Oh Ralph is all about upping his chances, Savanna. He wants to win, bad. ~snerk~

LOL...now there's a combo, a moose boyfriend with a squirrel girlfriend! All the girls in high school would be sooooo jealous. hehe

An additional benefit...she could perch on his antlers during their walks in the woods. Okay, no matter how I say that or think that, my mind goes dirty. An added benefit to being a romance writer. muahahaha

That would certainly be a whole new definition of Moose and Squirrel ... and could be erotica, as in selling to the dirty-minded. ~naughty grins~

I used to read a comic book with anthropomorphics/funny animals, that had a mouse girl dating a buffalo boy. They had sex. I'm not sure how.

As for Moose and Squirrel, I'm 5'4", so if you stand me next to Jared Padalecki ... ;)

Somehow, I don't think we'd have to "make" you stand next to him. ;)
