No flash piece this week. The hour is late. I'm dawg tired. Tomorrow is another early morning to prepare for another blasted snow storm heading our direction. But, it's winter Solara, you say.
Well dear readers, I drove in the midst of the last storm gracing DC for 8 hours to get home to be stuck in my own driveway while my comforter shoveled it out. The snowblower got enough to get me up the drive way. Our lights had been back on for a hour at that point. I will have the car packed with essentials (pens, notebooks, maybe my netbook, a few books and magazines, along with dried foods and clothes) to hole up in a hotel near work. I drove in the aftermath of the two blizzards last winter. This time I came close to too many accidents and idiots on the roads. I will park the car near the room since the hotel has outdoor parking and be safe inside even if electric goes out. Lots of blankets and flannel will do the trick. Any way, I am off to ZZZZZZZZZZ land with my male counter part holding me tight. He is special, miene bear.
One last news item before I sign off, I sold a contemporary menage to Siren-Bookstrand with a ebook tenative release date of June. I'll let you know more as we get closer.
Stay warm, keep your spice and lovers closer, and a few good friends too! Share your books and remember comforters take on different shape and sizes!
Have a great weekend!

Oh, Solara, when I heard about the nasty snowstorm and commute problems in DC, I thought of you, and hoped you were okay. Yeah, if you can safely get off the road, that's usually the best option. Years ago, I decided it wasn't worth driving to work in stuff like that. Heck, it wouldn't pay for losing my car. So, what was the point?
Of course, this winter I've had to go out in some nasty conditions because there was no other choice. Fortunately, I've been able to hole up for the most part.
Congrats! On your sale to Siren.
Thanks Savanna! I'm use to winter but there is a part of me saying I am so ready for this to be over. 6-8 more weeks...I will get through. Monday is close out of the month at work...32 calls left to evaluate by 5PM. That means an early in and busy busy day. If we don't end up on the blasted phones, I'll be done. However, our military puts their life on the line for us daily. No reason why I can't get on the line and answer their calls concerning finances so they know their loved ones are taken care of in that way.
I love your idea of a hotel so you didn't have to drive as far in the icky stuff. It's one part practical and one part sexy stay-cation! There's not much you can do about it when Mother Nature decides you need another snow storm; might as well make the most of it!
Ah now the setting for my recent sale comes out. Snow and a hotel room.
Solara, too bad taking care of the military financially can't be done at home, with computers and all... course, computers don't always work, either. Still...
Yeah, this winter's been a pain in the buttsky, hasn't it? Here in southcentral PA we're not getting socked like the coast and New England, but they still keep coming one after another, and the drivers don't get any smarter. This is the only time when being unemployed is a plus.
Don't forget to get junk food. I haven't been to the store in a couple of days. I'm fine on staples and such, but ran out of junk food. Now I have to snack on (shudder) vegetables. I want my granola bars and I want 'em now!
Enjoy your hotel stay/"vacation." And congrats on the sale!
Fabulous news on the sale, Solara! Congrats.:) Yeah, winter driving has never been my favorite thing. Thankfully you made it home safe and sound!
